Thank you for choosing this Nukeproof Handlebar. With proper care and installation, it will give you trouble-free, enjoyable use.
In order to maximize the safe enjoyment of this product, you should read and carefully follow the following installation instructions and warnings. Failure to do so could result in unexpected wear and or failure, possibly resulting in injury. Please read the following directions and helpful hints when installing your new handlebar.
1) Please make certain that your handlebar's center clamping diameter is 31.8mm before starting the installation process. It should be the same as your stem clamp inside diameter. If it is, please continue to the next steps;
2) Inspect your stem for any burrs or rough spots that could damage the handlebar. If any such conditions are found , take the stem to your dealer for repair or removal of the damage;
3) Clean your handlebar well. This will improve the clamping ability of the components;
4) Make sure that all the bolt threads on the stem clamp are well-lubricated with a high-quality grease;
5) Slide the handlebar into the stem clamp so that it is centered in the stem;
6) Tighten the stem clamps to the correct torque. Please confirm the correct tightening torque with the stem's manufacturer. Be careful not to tighten beyond the maximum limit, as damage to both the stem and handlebar could result;
7) Check that the installed handlebar does not rotate or slip when pressure is applied to it;
8) Install the remaining components (brake levers, cycle computers, etc.) in accordance with their respective manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE: If you are not using a Control Tech stem, please confirm with the manufacturer of the stem that it is appropriate for use with your handlebar. Occasionally, the difference between the specified inner diameter of the stem clamp and the specified outer diameter of the handlebar may be greater than specified. If the stem clamps cannot be clamped securely enough for all riding conditions when the clamps are tightened within specifications, you may have to try a different combination of handlebar and stem to insure proper, safe installation. Please check with your dealer if you have any questions about the fit and compatibility of different components.
