Nukeproof becomes bike partner and title sponsor of the KMC Nukeproof Mountainbike Racing Team

  • Nieuws

Nukeproof further expands its presence at the very highest level of mountain bike racing. For the next three seasons, Nukeproof will officially become Bike Partner and second title sponsor of the KMC Nukeproof Mountainbike Racing Team. Together with main sponsor KMC, the team continues an ambitious journey towards the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

This partnership marks Nukeproof’s entry into World Cup XC, alongside its previously announced return to World Cup Downhill as title sponsor of Axess Racing. Nukeproof is now active across multiple MTB disciplines at the highest international level.

A logical next step

Nukeproof was founded in 1990, long before mountain biking became an Olympic discipline, and originates from a sport deeply rooted in California. The return of the Olympic Games to the United States in 2028 adds extra symbolism to this partnership.

With a strong reputation in gravity, enduro and downhill, Nukeproof brings a clear racing DNA. The step into XCO perfectly fits the brand’s long-term vision: developing performance at the highest level and translating that knowledge into the bikes of tomorrow.

Christ Bakker, Managing Director KMC Chain Europe:

“KMC welcomes Nukeproof and is proud to support the brand’s entry into XCO. Following the acquisition of the iconic Nukeproof name by Belgian Cycling Factory, we see this as a powerful statement from Belgium.

This long-standing partnership between KMC and BCF now enters a new phase—one that strengthens all stakeholders within the KMC–Nukeproof MTB XCO Team.”

Jochim Aerts, Managing Director Belgian Cycling Factory:

“We are proud to continue our partnership with KMC and to launch the KMC Nukeproof MTB Racing Team. With Nukeproof fully integrated within BCF, we significantly strengthen our MTB engineering capabilities.

Together with our athletes and technical staff, we aim to translate racing expertise directly into the next generation of Nukeproof products.”

Clive Gosling, Global Brand Director Nukeproof:

“Nukeproof is traditionally associated with the tougher side of mountain biking—enduro, dirt jump and downhill. But we’re incredibly excited to step into XCO at the highest level together with KMC and Bart Brentjens.

We’re looking forward to bringing Nukeproof’s innovative spirit and radical attitude to the XC race scene.”

Bart Brentjens, Team Manager KMC Nukeproof MTB Racing Team:

“The coming years are crucial on the road to Los Angeles 2028. That’s why we’re extremely proud of this long-term partnership with KMC and Nukeproof.

Everything needs to be aligned to achieve top performance—riders, equipment, technology and partners. With this solid foundation, we look forward with confidence to the start of the new season.”

Mission Part 5: the road to LA 2028

Since January 2025, the team has been operating within Mission Part 5, a four-year Olympic cycle towards Los Angeles 2028. For Nukeproof, this partnership goes beyond visibility: it is a platform for development, innovation and performance-driven product evolution, directly fueled by World Cup racing.

It’s not just racing.

It’s an attitude.
