Advanced carbon frame construction

The Dissent 290c is the next evolution of Nukeproof’s proven downhill platform, reengineered in carbon. Using a blend of T700 and T800 high modulus carbon fibre, the chassis benefits from more complex shaping and precise tuning of stiffness, compliance and strength in each zone. This design freedom allowed engineers to refine ride characteristics for clearer feedback and control while maintaining durability. Weight was not the primary goal, yet the carbon frame achieves a reduction of 430 g compared to the previous aluminium version, resulting in a lighter, stiffer and more responsive bike. The layup process also enabled rapid prototyping and iteration, so every millimetre of geometry and linkage integration is optimised for maximum performance on the track.

Frame adaptability

Engineered to adapt to any track, terrain or riding style, the Dissent 290c Carbon is one of Nukeproof’s most versatile downhill frames. Built around the proven Fallout Linkage, it offers extensive adjustment so riders can fine tune every aspect of setup. A three position main pivot lets you set suspension progression at 21 percent, 25 percent or 28 percent to move from a plush park feel to full race precision. The adjustable reach headset provides plus minus 6 millimetres of range to balance fit and handling, while chainstay flip chips offer three wheelbase settings to prioritise stability or agility for the track at hand. Versatility extends to wheel configuration as well. You can run full 29 inch or mixed 29 and 27.5 inch by inverting a flip chip on the rear triangle. Geometry and suspension kinematics remain consistent so performance is unchanged across setups. Combined with the new NP1 to NP3 sizing structure, riders can achieve a truly personalised fit and ride feel, whether chasing split seconds, flowing through bike park berms or sending freeride lines. Dissent Carbon is not just a downhill bike, it is a platform for precise tuning and complete rider adaptability.

Suspension kinematics

At the core of the Dissent 290c is an evolution of Nukeproof’s World Cup winning Fallout Linkage, refined to balance sensitivity, support and control. The latest carbon platform enabled further optimisation of the kinematics for improved small bump compliance and greater stability through the mid stroke. A high initial leverage rate gives a supple ground hugging response at the start of travel, while a progressive mid stroke provides predictable support and carries speed through rough sections and big impacts. Near the end of travel a carefully tuned regressive phase limits harsh bottom outs and helps riders use the full 200 mm efficiently. This refined curve increases traction and comfort and makes the shock easier to tune, allowing higher spring rates or the latest air shocks without losing suppleness. The result is a bike that feels planted, composed and adaptable across a wide range of tracks and terrain, from flat out World Cup courses to all day park laps.

Every detail of the Giga is specified with the rider in mind so it can be ridden harder, last longer and be easier to live with day to day. The sculpted carbon frame carries a 750 ml bottle with a carbon cage included and an accessory mount under the top tube for tools or spares, keeping essentials close and your pack light. An integrated rear mudguard, generous mud clearance for tyres up to 2.5 inches, a threaded bottom bracket and MAX bearings deliver long term reliability in harsh conditions. Durability and serviceability are central to the layout. Accessible hardware, sensible Allen key sizes, laser etched torque markings and tube in tube internal cable routing make workshop and pit work straightforward. The frame also uses 3D contoured rubber guards on the down tube, seatstays and chainstays to keep the Giga quiet and protected from strikes. Practical, tough and rider focused, the Giga is built to be ridden hard and maintained with ease.

Optimized geometry and suspension kinematics

The Giga’s geometry and suspension are tuned for a balanced mix of stability, speed and agility, delivering efficient climbing and confidence when gravity takes over. Built around Nukeproof’s horseshoe driven linkage, the system uses an eccentric main pivot axle to let riders set suspension progression at 25.5 percent or 29 percent, matching terrain, conditions and preference. Both settings provide supple small bump sensitivity, supportive mid stroke control and a progressive end stroke that keeps the bike composed on big impacts. The Progressive plus setting can add shock progression on a coil setup in a way that is similar to adding a volume spacer to an air shock, and the extra suppleness is beneficial in wet and slippery conditions. In line with Nukeproof’s Long, Low, Slack and Steep geometry, the Giga offers stable high speed handling while remaining agile in tight technical sections. A steeper seat angle maintains an efficient climbing position across sizes, and longer reach and wheelbase figures give the chassis a planted race ready character. The result is a bike that feels balanced and controllable, planted when needed, playful when you want it and ready to be pushed hard.
